Onyx-- Retired

Onyx was born on September 16, 2012 and passed December 23rd 2024.

Her parents are Forest (Black 60lb standard Poodle) and Zoey (Blonde 60lb F1 Goldendoodle) making her a F2B Goldendoodle.

She has been in our home since birth.. She is a big sweetheart and loves puppies, going on hikes, and hanging out with our family. She also loves to chase rabbits, hunt frogs, and enjoy anything the outdoors has to offer! Onyx is on- and off-leash trained and weighs 45lbs. She has started turning grey and has white hairs coming through her black coat. She has had 4 litters of F2b Goldendoodles. She is officially retired.

We are so happy for the wonderful 12 years we spent with her. She has been our little girl and Grandma. At one point in time she was our smallest dog at 42 pounds. She was the runt of her litter and we knew she was going to have a forever home with us. She loves to hunt frogs and anything that moves. She used to wander with her Mom Zoey and Daughter Pippa. They loved to give me mini-panic attacks when they did so. She chased cats, birds, squirrels and everything in between.

We are so glad we got to take our sweet girl to the beach this year for her last trip. We didn't know it was her last trip- but we are thankful she got to go!

When we found out in November that she had very aggressive cancer we were heartbroken. She didn't act any different. She was a little slower, but we just assumed age. Since her diagnosis we have watched her slow down even more. We are ensuring she isn't in pain, keeping her with medicine and CBD to help. We have made sure her last weeks on this planet have been the absolute best. We have snuggled her, given her all the snacks, and let her lick every single bowl, car rides, special attention, whatever she wants. I have moved countless times out of my spot on the couch so she could have it.

We have watched as every one of our dogs, her family, have been so gentle with her. They know. They know she doesn't have much longer, and they also have treated her like the queen she is.

This is the first dog we have had to put down and we are quite shattered. We are thankful to know she will not be progressively getting worse and will run free again! Thankful God has given us this time to love and squeeze on her and let her know how much we do love her. We will be with her until she takes her last breath. She has been such a special girl and was from our first litter of puppies.

She had 4 standard litters of Goldendoodles, and she was the best mom!
